Listning to LF ans VLF with TS2000X and laptop with "guard-rail" antenna 8000 meters (yards) long along side the E-39 motorway between Stavanger and Sandnes in south Norway.
Receiving rainscatter indoors...3 cm band.
IF rig is HTX-100 10meter transceiver.
Dish is a Ikea aluminuim "fruit dish" 38cm diameter and JWM 5GHz PLL local osc and Isoterm 10MHz ref osc.
Window shade as varible attenuator! If the beacon was vertical polarized, then no signal would come thru. "http://home.no.net/ jhhl/egne"
This is meteor scatter from a TV transmitter received on 49.739,6 MHz.
Displayed on Spectran and Skypipe software, receiver is a TS2000X and antenna is a simple dipole.
VLF station, callsign "GBZ",on 19.6 kHz, located in Criggion (Great Britain), received in Stavanger, Norway by LA3EQ
Antenna is only a 14 meter coax shield of an old TV antenna cable.
Weird oscillation with frequency shift when paning transverter. Movment up/down gives largest shift, left/right less. WHY is this happening? Anyone else have this experience?

1 sep 2007. problem solved. On board DC/DC converter interacting with Earths magnetic field and radiating VHF hash noise into 144MHz IF BNC output coax connector.
