The Excelsior Brigade Fife and Drum Corps marches through the union camp at the 2006 Hamlin Beach State Park Civil War reenactment. Old 1812 is a standard tune played by many ancient fife and drum corps and reenactors alike. This video, in it's original format, is a good example of the style of marching used by most ancient corps, and is an easier style with longer step than modern drum corps use.
Seems this combination is played too often ;-) Here's most of the Excelsior Brigade at the reenactment at the Hamlin Beach State Park, 2006, playing in a circle near the Union Camp. See Sgt Whiting choke on Battle Hymn.
The Excelsior Brigade Fife and Drum Corps plays the 2006 stand piece consisting of Civil War era tunes, Ed Kellog's Quick Step, White Cockade (drum beatings by Bob Frail, email for a copy), Old Rosin the Beau, From the Three Camps, Wait for the Wagon and My Love is But a Lassie Yet. The quality of the recording is better than the Old Dan Tucker piece...
Hamlin Beach State Park reenactment, 2006, Hamlin, NY. The corps plays old standard Old Dan Tucker. The recording isn't the best, but you can really hear the bass drum coming through playing this classic "stop beat."
This is a short video of the US Army's Old Guard Fife and Drum corps performing at the Loudon Border Guards' muster in Leesburg, VA in the spring of 2005.
