He wrote/composed it because he was inspired when he saw a young girl working at 7-11.
Leehom's exgirlfriend told Leehom that she was getting married and Leehom wrote this song for her wedding. It's a mixture of the feelings he felt at the time. Half of him was happy that she was finally able to find a man that loved her and half of him was sad that he wasn't that man.
