This clip was taken on March 2nd at Hillsborough HS. Nevin Griffith and Michael Burgess battled it out all night! It's hard to say who got the best of the matchup. On one 11 pitch AB, Burgess kept fouling off 93MPH fastballs that were great pitches and eventually walked. Griffith turned in stellar outing in Middelton win! He is Satchel Page born again!

This is Lanza's only recording of Nevin's classic song, and his earnest approach is notable for its utter simplicity and directness. Lanza's sincerity is never in doubt, and the result is most affecting.

Performer's note: I am surprised that this piece has apparently not appeared on Youtube before. Anyone following the score will note that the last few measures should apparently be played with hands crossed. However, this would seem to require exceptionally long arms so I have not done this!
