Using http://youtube.com/w atch?v=67cLAOQA1BA for reference (sorry for poor quality!), compare terminals and other landmarks to see how quick the acceleration and how steep the takeoff were. Even with the displaced threshold, rotating at the piano keys is rare! United 757 to Denver.

the fourth and last video from my trip from tucson to santa ana with a stop in phoenix. us airways 757 landing. the large thump noise was actually the plane bouncing back off the ground after a pretty hard landing but anyone who has ever flown into john wayne orange county airport in santa ana knows, there is no such thing as a smooth landing there.
