Milk costs $6.50 a gallon! Orange juice is over $7. Half gallon of Milk is $4.29. Over $8.00 for a box of cereal or a jar of peanut butter. Most of Hawaii's food is shipped in from the mainland so it's more expensive to begin with. Now with fuel prices at record levels and headed higher, shippers are adding on huge surcharges to make up the difference. Paradise doesn't look so appealing anymore.
