Ridgewood Reservoir is a 50 acres nature oasis located on the Brooklyn/Queens border. The city wants to turn it into ball fields. The video speaks for itself.
During 2006, Sean Sime, Shane Blodgett and decided to do a big NYS Birding Year. We trekked from as far east as Montauk Point and up to Niagara Falls, trying to observe as many species of birds as possible. It was, at times, exhausting, but we had a lot of fun in the process. A pair of young Red-tailed Hawk in a Brooklyn nest. Some pre-fledge training. Just two of the 19 Red-tailed Hawk offspring around New York City that are well know. There are several on Staten Island and another in Queens, yet to be explored
